The Journey

Your path to becoming the ultimate warrior will be a challenging and yet rewarding journey.  With everything else you learn in life, it all starts with a solid foundation, building upon the basics, and expanding on that knowledge.  The key is having an open mind and accepting the knowledge as truth.

In the Beginners class, you will learn the importance of foundation, which are the building blocks to which everything you will learn are all based upon.  These include blocks, strikes, kicks, punches, and stances. Your muscles used for these various types of movements will begin to develop.  You will also start to develop the endurance required for sustained types of activities at this level.  With these building blocks, you will begin learning forms known as Pinan dances.  You will also begin learning self defense techniques against punches and from various grabs.  You will also be introduced to the Filipino stick fighting art of Doce Pares, learning the twelve striking and blocking areas.  At this point, your focus, attention to detail, and sense of balance will begin to develop, as these are all important to progressing forward.

In the Intermediate class, you will continue to refine your building blocks.  You will learn additional Pinan dances that are a little more advanced in skill level.  You will also learn more self defense techniques, including those against weapons and from multiple attackers.  You will increase your knowledge of Doce Pares, as you continue in its progression, learning disarms and strips.  At this point of your training, your strength and endurance will have developed, as the physical and mental demands placed on your body become more rigorous.

In the Advanced class, you will continue to refine your building blocks.  At this level, your blocks, strikes, and kicks are executed with snap, stances are clearly defined, and your movements are crisp and concise.  You will continue to learn additional Pinan dances and self defense techniques that are more advanced.  Strength, endurance, and body conditioning are key, as self defense techniques performed at this level become increasingly realistic to the streets.  You will also continue with your progression of Doce Pares, learning Eskrido (Filipino Jujitsu) and the bare handed technique of Pangamot.  At this point, you are clearly aware of your abilities and are able to tailor them to suit your needs.
